Now, he’s speeding up: just six weeks after closing the deal, he has flipped the property and sold it on to racing driver Bret Curtis - a pace that rivals the speed with which he won a record seven Tour de France titles.
The reason for Armstrong’s sudden about-turn is unclear - the sales price is undisclosed, so a profitable flip is possible, although it could be due to a number of causes.
The disgraced cyclist’s sell would not have been difficult, though: Armstrong’s lakefront pad spans 12,442 square feet and boasts a swimming pool, rooftop deck, indoor sport court and, best of all, a 200ft suspension bridge that leads to a private boathouse.
No less than five days after Curtis signed the contact, Lance was off again, this time purchasing another home in the area: a slightly smaller 7,646 square-foot home from Ben Barnes, speaker of the Texas House of Representatives.
The home was built in 1924 and sits on almost half an acre of land, reports Zillow.
Will he still be living there in six weeks’ time? Who knows? But Lance Armstrong’s love of the Texas area means that while he is burning real estate rubber with a passion, his tyres are not having to travel too far.
