Deer on runway stops portugal flight from landing

The animal was noticed by staff at Glasgow Prestwick airport, just as the plane was about to touch down, prompting the airplane crew to perform a “go-around” to avoid hitting it.

Passengers on the plane “left bewildered”, reports the Telegraph.

One passenger told the BBC: "We were almost down. We were coming over the last farm when we pulled back up again. I am not a good flyer and I found it quite shocking. Everybody was looking at one another, wondering what was going on."

After approximately an hour, the flight touched down safely at 11am. It was only then that the passengers were informed what the issue was.

“Just landed from Portugal and the pilot couldn't land the plane, almost touched down and took off again .. Blamed it on a deer on the runway,” tweeted 18-year-old @jacklochans.
