Crocs on a plane
Crocs on a plane may sound like a bad sequel to the 2006 movie Snakes on a Plane, but it happened in real life for Qanta this week as a crocodile escaped on a flight to Melbourne.
The reptile, which travelled in the cargo hold on the two-hour trip from Brisbane to Melbourne, was found by baggage handlers at the airport after getting loose from its container.
"An incident involving a live animal in the cargo hold of a Qantas aircraft is being investigated," commented airline spokeswoman Lauren Blank.
"The animal was quickly and safely secured when the aircraft arrived in Melbourne. The investigation is focusing on whether it had been loaded appropriately on delivery to Australian air Express (AaE)."
Australian Air Express did not respond to CNN's requests for comment, although the freight carrier's website says that when animals are transported on the aircraft, "the locking mechanism on the door of the container and any hinges must be secure and strong enough to prevent any possibility of escape".
Samuel L. Jackson was not on the flight.
