Celebrity homes: chris evans comes out on top in $3.5m bidding frenzy
In a fight between Chris Evans and, well, anybody else, you could be forgiven for automatically putting your money on the movie star. And, sure enough, Captain America came out on top in a recent auction for a renovated ranch in the Hollywood Hills.
The mid-century mansion, located in Laurel Canyon, spans 4,600 square feet and was snapped up last June for $1.9 million. A quick flip later and the renovated three-bedroom home went back on the market, boasting a new kitchen, redone floors, a swimming pool, two-car garage, a guest house and a two-tiered square fountain next to the lawn, according to The Real Estalker.
The property has a “sweeping view” over the San Fernando Valley. The dining room also includes a built-in wet bar and a “wall of glass doors that expose the room to the same expansive views as the living room”.
The new asking price? $3.5 million.
Evans is no stranger to the area, having picked up a two-storey foreclosure for $1.26million in 2007. But the three-bedroom home is apparently not enough to keep Captain America settled: he entered into a flurry of bidding activity on his new mansion, ultimately emerging victorious. How much he paid is unknown, but reports say it was significantly over the $3.5m price tag.
Still, with The Avengers raking in a total of over $1.5 billion worldwide from box office receipts, it’s unlikely the Cap is feeling the pinch on his purse strings.
