Dubai 'favourite for expat christmas getaways'

Good news for Dubai as a recent report from the holiday rentals company Campaya names the UAE city the most popular destination for those seeking winter sunshine this Christmas.

The firm say they have noted a recent increase in the holiday property rental market, with more demand for properties in what had been struggling holiday rental markets, such as Portugal, Ireland, Greece and Dubai.

"Dubai is popular because of what it guarantees: sunshine, great beaches, excellent shopping and luxurious restaurants. For many the fact that the recent property crisis has resulted in some exceptionally luxurious properties being available as rental properties at great rates is making Dubai extremely popular this Christmas," said Claus Pedersen, Campaya founder.

Other top destinations for Christmas in the report are Tenerife, Maderia, the Caribbean and Egypt.
