Bangkok condos will bounce back from flood disaster
Bangkok's condominium market will bounce back despite the Thai capital’s suburbs currently being ravaged by heavy flooding, according to an associate director of Colliers International Thailand
Tony Picon said that despite shocking scenes in the city that a strong comeback is on the cards.
The fact that condos are less prone to flooding may see demand shift towards them. “This is what happened in Myanmar after cyclone Nargis hit,” said Picon. “People moved from landed houses to condominiums which had a popular effect on the condominium market.”
“We are seeing an increase in the number of high-rise permits being lodged as developers prepare for increased demand,” he said.
