Ping-pong hotel to open in china
A hotel in the shape of a giant ping-pong racket is to open in an east Chinese city, reports the China Daily.
The hotel, to open in the city of Huainan in the Anhui province, will be 150m tall and shaped like a giant upside down table tennis racket. The 'handle' at the top will act as a sightseeing area for guests to glimpse views over the city, whilst the 'ball' located in front of the main building will act as a conference Centre.
Located within an Olympic park, the hotel's construction is being funded by the municipal sports bureau, with plans to construct a football-shaped gymnasium, a basketball-shaped stadium and a volleyball-shaped naratorium nearby.
