Onetime home of julie andrews sells for $5.15m

A onetime home of Julie Andrews has sold for $5.15m.

The Beverly Crest property, which was once home to the iconic actress and singer, was listed in April by film producer Stacey Sher and musician Kerry Brown.

The house was built in 1948, according to the LA Times, and boasts five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a screening room and a gym - and that's just the main house. The entire estate spans 1.61 acres, enough space for a separate guesthouse, which also contains four bedrooms, and another building that holds a basketball court, swimming pool, tennis court and waterfalls.

The guesthouse's main feature, though, is a recording studio, which has laid down tracks from Ziggy Marley and Courtney Love, as well as recorded the soundtracks for movies PS I Love You and Death to Smooch.

But the guesthouse being so alive with the sound of music has evidently worn out Sher and Kerry's ears. She, who is currently working on Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, and Kerry listed Andrews' former estate for sale in April this year.

Their original asking price for Mary Poppins' residence? $5.795 million. A spoonful of discounts helped the transaction go down.
