Most british cfos would not relocate abroad

Previous studies have suggested that Britain's punishing tax rates, combined with perceived poor quality of life, are encouraging a worrying amount of high earners to move abroad.

Yet 63 per cent of CFOs said in a survey that they would remain on British soil even if they were offered their “dream package” overseas.

Among the minority who said they would consider relocating, most cited career progression (36 per cent) or a bigger salary (30 per cent) as their main incentive, while others said they would be attracted by a higher quality of life (27 per cent) and a better environment to raise children in (15 per cent).

Surprisingly few were interested in cutting their tax bill, with just 13 per cent of participants saying they would look for a destination which had a more favourable tax regime. A slightly higher number, 14 per cent, said they could be attracted by a bigger bonus.
