Overseas property news - Malaysian property market 'a great long-term investment'

Malaysian property market 'a great long-term investment'

Malaysia's property market may represent a good investment for those who are prepared to wait long term for their money to provide a return.

According to Nick Marr, director at UK-based overseas property portal Homesgofast.com, the nation is not appealing for those who are looking to make cash quickly.

But individuals may be tempted to transfer money to an agent in the Asian nation to complete a deal for a home in the country if they are happy to wait a few years to make a profit.

Mr Marr explained Malaysia is all about the lifestyle available there, which is why so many people who decide to visit come back to it again and again.

"People who return to Malaysia love the country, its people, its food, the beautiful landscapes and of course the warm ocean waters and everything else that Malaysia has to offer," he said, with these all being reasons why individuals may wish to send money abroad so they are able to buy a home in the destination.

It was added property sales to foreigners make up only two per cent of the market in the country at the present time, but this is expected to increase in the coming years.

"The stable housing market means that Malaysia is one of the cheapest places to buy in the region but it needs to be over the long term, say ten years," suggested Mr Marr, who particularly recommended the condominium market for those who want to buy a home in the country.

Earlier in the month, editor at BuyAssociation Paul Collins highlighted Thailand as a potential market for those who want to carry out an international money transfer in order to invest in overseas property.

He explained the rental market in the Asian nation is strong, due to the fact there are a lot of tourists looking for somewhere to stay during their time in the country.
