Vanilla ice - real estate guru?
Stop, collaborate and listen - the one-time '80s hip-hop star has reinvented himself as a real estate guru, launching a website where budding property investors can capitalise on his supposed 'get rich quick' tips.
Rapper Vanilla Ice, aka Rob Van Winkle, claims he made a bundle on the international property market following his musical success 20 years ago with 'Ice Ice Baby', and wants to let fans in on his profit-making secrets. "When ‘Ice Ice Baby' was selling a million records a day, I bought several properties; a home next to Michael J. Fox in LA, a palace in Miami, and mountain cabin in Utah,” Van Winkle reveals on his website, VanillaIceRealEstate.com. "Then, a few years later, I took a break from touring, saw that my properties had cobwebs, so I sold them, and to my surprise, I made a huge profit!”
Between the odd novelty guest DJ set, Van Winkle has also recently been starring in his own reality show, 'The Vanilla Ice Project', where he and his company renovate homes in Southern Florida, and has apparently launched the property website in response to requests from his viewers. "I've been flooded with requests from viewers of my show to teach them how to succeed at real estate," Ice says. "So, for my fans, I give you VanillaIceRealEstate.com."
Though a little short on actual tips so far, the site does contain a highly informative YouTube clip in which Ice promises to teach you how to "pop your collar and make 'em holler", and to get his investment followers enough money to be "lounging rock-star style" around a pool in Vegas.
