South africa's coastal properties 'are popular'

Coastal properties in South Africa are holding their value well and proving to be popular among buyers.

This is the assertion of Spacesa director Darren McDermott, who explained the market in the Western Cape of the country has not experienced significant price falls over the past few years.

"It's [in] coastal property that you see real value, compared to similar property on the Mediterranean - and everyone wants to live with sea views," he stated.

Mr McDermott highlighted the Atlantic Seaboard in Cape Town and the city's suburb of Constantia as being two of the most sought-after locations among real estate investors at present.
