Ryan seacrest loses half a million on house sale

Ryan Seacrest joined the host of celebrities who have successfully sold their homes this week, but like many wealthy homeowners, his admission to the sales club came at a price: half a million dollars, to be precise.

Seacrest purchased his 8,000 square foot mansion in 2006. The property, which boasts six bedrooms, four bathrooms, a swimming pool, tennis and separate nightclub, used to belong to Kevin Costner, according to TMZ. Costner, in turn, purchased it from Richard Dreyfuss.

But even that movie star heritage was not enough to save Seacrest from the celebrity price-cutting trend. Ryan paid $11.5 million for the mansion. Six years later, he listed it for $12.9 million, only to sell it eventually for $11 million.

The loss is unlikely to bother Seacrest too much, though: he recently bought Ellen DeGeneres' expansive estate for $37.5 million.
