La voted america's rudest city

Forget all those stories about rude New Yorkers. According to a new survey published today the residents of Los Angeles in laid back California are the rudest people in America.

Perhaps it is all at warm weather getting them hot under the collar. And it can be irritating getting sand in your shoes. Whatever the reason, readers of Travel and Leisure magazine clearly haven't had the warmest of welcomes in the golden state.

The survey measured a number of different categories. Out of 35 major cities, L.A. also ranked dead last in public transportation and pedestrian-friendliness.
