Tourism malaysia woos singapore's seniors

Money, time and proximity. These are some reasons why Tourism Malaysia is eyeing Singapore's senior citizen market to woo more them to holiday in Malaysia.

Tourism Malaysia recently participated in a locally organised event, 'Active Ageing Carnival and 50plush Expo 2011', in which it partnered AirAsia and Singapore-based travel agent Fascinating Holidays to promote Malaysia among Singapore retirees.

Tourism Malaysia director in Singapore Zalizam Zakaria told Malaysian news agency Bernama: "We want to concentrate on this category because retirees have all the means to spend on vacations.

"They have all the free time as they don't have to wait for school holidays or take leave to travel."
