Senate committee approves florida foreclosure fast-tracking bill
A Florida fast-track foreclosure Bill, which would reduce the amount of time banks can pursue homeowners for back-debt, has been approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Senate Bill 1890, which would reduce the time a bank can seek a deficiency judgement from five years to one year, passed the vote five-to-two in favour and now has to face two more committees: one in the Senate and one in the House of Representatives.
Senator David Simmons, representing Altamonte Springs, said that attorneys are slowing the process.
