The Maine real estate market is not looking healthy, but bargains can be picked up by smart investors, says property expert Marty Macisso.
Property sales are down 25 per cent from last year in the Maine area, and house prices are down 20 per cent, but Macisso reminds buyers that the figures are affected by the end of homebuyer tax credit in 2010.
He adds that while rental costs are rising, cheap homes are available on the market due to foreclosures and that smart buyers are investing and holding on to property before the market recovers in several years time.
