Overseas property news - Kiwi expats are 'untapped' investment source

Kiwi expats are 'untapped' investment source

The research, from New Zealand expat organisation Kea, was based on interviews with around 500 New Zealanders who live overseas.

It found that that around 15 per cent of New Zealanders who are based abroad are “strongly motivated” to invest in a New Zealand company, while almost three-quarters (72.8 per cent) are also keen to help mentor or manage a New Zealand small-to-medium enterprise.

Sir Stephen Tindall, the CEO and co-founder of the organisation, said: “Most New Zealanders see economic growth as our best chance of achieving improved prosperity, but growth requires capital and connections.

“This research demonstrates that significant increases in investment, and improved connections with global networks, can be achieved from Kiwis living overseas who remain committed to New Zealand despite their temporary or even permanent residence in another country.”
