The Hollywood director has placed his Malbu beach compound up for rent, reports RealEstalker.
The estate, located on Broad Beach, was purchased by the Oscar-winning filmmaker back in 1989.
Celebrating the release of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in the summer, Spielberg snapped up the pad for $3,191,000 in October.
Fast forward to the year of Catch Me If You Can and the director bought the adjacent property in April, bringing the 1.08-acre compound to a total price tag of $6.56 million.
What did he get for that money? Well, a 7,237-square-foot house for one, with seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms and its own massage room.
The courtyard also offers a swimming pool and spa, where tenants can re-enact jaws to their heart’s content, while the rest of the estate promises two fire places, a three-car garage for your own remake of Minority Report’s best scene, a world-class security system and, of course, a screening room for watching War Horse on repeat.
Why would Spielberg rent out the space at all? RealEstalker suggests it’s to make up for the fuel costs for his $2000 million yacht, which he plans to sail around this summer. TheMoveChannel.com is more concerned with finding an inflatable shark to put in that swimming pool.
How much does it cost to rent Steven Spielberg’s beach house? $125,000 a month - or, half the price Pierce Brosnan asked for his Malibu beach house last summer.
Inflatable shark not included.
