No compensation for condo residents affected by flood
The residents at USJ One Avenue condominium, whose cars were damaged when its lower ground car park was flooded, will not be compensated by the developer, according to a report by The Star.
This was the decision made by the developer MCT Berhad during the meeting with residents' representatives, stating legal and technical reasons why compensations cannot be given. Instead the developer will provide a relief fund amounting RM250,000 to the condo's Joint Management Body (JMP).
However, the residents said that the flooding should not have happened in a premier development, in which over 200 cars were damaged.
The residents' committee chairman walked out during the meeting, while another resident who does not wish to be named, said that MCT should bear more responsibility now.
