Overseas demand for memphis property surging

Memphis in the United States is coming onto the radar of overseas property buyers as a new, cheap and profit-making investment opportunity, according to a local real estate firm.

Tennessee-based Memphisinvest.com has seen its sales to foreign buyers rocket to 22% of all monthly purchases in recent months, and Kent Clothier, founder of the company, believes government willingness to welcome foreign business is helping.

What the investors really liked was the aggressive attitude of the government to make Memphis a welcoming city to foreign companies,” he said. “They felt for their personal investments, that was important."

Clothier added that interest in Memphis is spanning the globe, with enquiries coming in from Europe, Canada, Asia and Australasia, and initially caught the company by surprise.
