Air france strikes continue to disrupt flights

The protest, which is against the expansion of low-cost European carrier Transvia, including the transferring of jobs from the airline to the company, began at the start of this week.

Shares in the airline's Franco-Dutch parent Air France-KLM fell more than 3 per cent in the wake of the action, reports Reuters, despite prices climbing last week when the company outlined its plans for expansion.

Now, Air France is recommending that passengers either alter or Change their travel plans.

"If you are travelling on a flight operated by Air France, we propose you modify your departure to avoid the period from September 15th to 22nd 2014," the airline cautions.

Customers may postpone trips between September 23rd and 30th, 2014 included, at no extra cost in the same cabin, on the Air France website, in the "Review / modify your reservations" section, on our mobile sites or from your travel agent.

To postpone your trip beyond the end of september, Air France says you can benefit of non-refundable voucher valid one year on Air France or KLM. (In this case, please contact your usual travel agent.)

"If your flight is cancelled or delayed by more than 5 hours, you can also request the refund of your ticket," notes the airline.
