Far east tops expat list of best nations for career progression

New research has found the Far East has become one of the top hotspots for British workers looking to relocate overseas.

According to the annual NatWest International Personal Banking Quality of Life Index, countries such as China and Singapore have seen a sharp rise in expats from the west.

It was suggested the economic troubles in Europe and the US have contributed to the trend, with individuals looking to transfer money to foreign accounts that are outside of the areas.

In comparison to the west, the economies of China and Singapore are continuing to "boom", which makes the nations an increasingly attractive option.

Dave Isley, head of NatWest International Personal Banking, said: "Expats are not a holistic group, but multi-complex in terms of their reasons for migrating, choice of destination country and attitudes and behaviours while living abroad."
