Video: obama offers mortgage relief on western trip

President Barack Obama offered mortgage relief on Monday to hundreds of thousands of Americans, promising "a series of steps to help responsible homeowners to refinance and take advantage of low mortgage rates".

This scheme is his latest attempt to ease the economic and political fallout of a housing crisis that has bedeviled him as he seeks a second term.
