Retirement today: be realistic about relocating overseas
Individuals looking to relocate to Spain for their retirement have been told to be "realistic" about it, according to Retirement Today.
Maria Johnston, director at the publication, said that while everyone is looking for their individual utopia to retire in, people need to be practical before they make any decisions.
"If you're going to a country where you don't speak the language and you can't communicate, things can get very difficult very quickly," she said.
Her comments follow a recent survey by Which? that found Spain is one of the most popular destinations for Brits looking to retire abroad. According to figures from the Department for Work and Pensions, there are currently 96,990 UK state pensioners living there.
