South Africa is still seeing a growth in tourism following the World Cup last year.
Speaking at the World Travel Market London, Fiona Buchner, Regional Director of Europe for the South African Tourist Board, commented:
"I think the biggest thing the World Cup did was shift the perceptions that people have of South Africa and open their mind to us being a completely welcoming, friendly destination with more to offer than previously thought," noting that the country's increase was "ahead of the world tourism growth curve".
"We are really making the most of the awareness generated by the World Cup to sustain arrivals into the future," Buchner added.
