Watch: haunted open house terrifies buyers

Halloween has arrived and people around the country will be heading to the cinema or staying in to watch a scary movie. But while haunted house flicks are a favourite among horror fans, would you actually live with a ghost?

A survey by online estate agent Urban.co.uk found that the UK is surprisingly relaxed when it comes to the paranormal, with 57 per cent saying they would be more than happy to live with a spook.

But house-hunters in the USA found themselves decidedly spooked this month, when taking a tour of the home featured in the Paranormal Activity movies. Led through the living room and the kitchen by an estate agent, paintings started to fall off the walls and bathroom mirrors cracked of their own accord.

The whole ordeal was caught by a series of hidden cameras, as part of an elaborate prank to promote the new Paranormal Activity movie, which has been released in cinemas for Halloween.

The property, though, actually was on the market earlier this year. The San Diego County property, which boasts four bedrooms and 2.5 baths to go with its scary screen history, had an asking price of $749,000.

"It’s a great neighborhood, I think someone will buy this house quickly," said neighbour Marina Irvine at the time.
