Sold: houseboat from sleepless in seattle

The boat, which is loacted on Seattle's Lake Union, is most known to passers by for someone who never really lived there: lonely divorcee Sam Baldwin from the movie Sleepless in Seattle, who was played by Tom Hanks.

The home, which spans more than 2,000 square feet, is a slice of unique real estate with almost as many fans in the local areas as the Rom-com itself thanks to its picture-perfect dock at the bottom of a flower-lined road. The home was last on the market back in 2008, when its owners - who picked it up for a reported $550,000 in the 1990s - listed it for $2.5 million.

After struggling to find a buyer, though, the couple "took it off the market when people began swarming the dock for pictures", reports Biz Journals.

Now, several years later, they have finally managed to matchmake the home with the perfect partner - an "executive in the high-tech industry", who has paid a rumoured $2 million for it. After their tidy $1.5 million profit, you can imagine the houseboats' sellers will not have trouble sleeping for many nights to come.
