Kicking off new interest

A projected shortage of hotel rooms to accommodate visitors during the Football World Cup next will drive greater demand for property in South Africa to rent, according to Zorgvliet property group in South Africa...

FIFA, world football's governing body, estimates that 55,000 hotel rooms will be required to accommodate the visitors for the tournament - around 15,000 more than are currently available.

Last year FIFA was forced to accredit guest houses, private lodges and backpacker hostels to help make up the numbers.

FIFA's accommodation agency has even had to reserve thousands of rooms in neighbouring countries, including properties in Mauritius, a holiday island that takes four-and-a-half hours to reach by air.

Zorgvliet Vineyard Estate located near Stellenbosch, 40 minutes drive from the new Green Point Stadium in Cape Town and Ka'Ingo Private Game Reserve & Spa, an hour away from the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex in Polokwane, are both being geared up for the football tournament.

The Zorgvliet Group has decided to introduce a mixed-use element at all of its five star luxury hotel residences, and is launching unique usage or ownership options at its five-star resorts (including fractional ownership).

The Zorgvliet Group specialises in educational, authentic and sometimes life-changing experiences at each of its locations which will be of particular interest to those wanting to extend their trip, or for partners of football fans left to their own devices.
