Elvis may have left the building, but you can now buy it. Elvis Presley's former house, located in Beverly Hills, has been put for up for sale.
The home, where he lived with his wife Priscilla, was bought by The King in 1967. Designed by Paul Trousdale, who worked with Frankly Lloyd Wright and others, the property boasts four bedrooms, five bathrooms and is located on a 1.18 acre slice of land that promises a panoramic view of LA. But the most impressive part of the estate are the original gates, which still stand outside the front of the property, covered in messages written by fans.
"Elvis reportedly would come out of the home to talk to his fans gathered behind those gates," adds NBC News.
When the Presleys lived there, the area was an exclusive star hotspot, with neighbours ranging from Frank Sinatra to Tony Curtis and Ray Charles. Now, neighbours include Vera Wang and Jennifer Aniston. But while the star wattage may have dimmed slightly, the price has done just the opposite. Elvis picked up his pad for a humble $400,000. The asking price today? $12.995 million.
That's enough to make anyone all shook up.
