Canadians happiest in the world with their housing
More than two-thirds of Canadians are satisfied with their lives — which isn't so surprising because Canada ranks near the top of the Pack in the quality of life index the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development released Tuesday.
The OECD's Better Life Initiative compares the 34 OECD countries on 11 factors that make for a better life.
Canada "performs exceptionally well" when it comes to well-being, the report found.
Canada is at the top of the list for housing. More than 65% of dwellings in the country are inhabited by the owners, and there is an average of 2.5 rooms in a dwelling per person who lives there -- much higher than the OECD average of 1.6 rooms per person.
