Celebrity homes: is tom cruise’s townhouse for sale?

Cruise, who was with his former partner Katie Holmes at the time, was linked to the purchase in April of that year. No official details were forthcoming, though: the deal was closed by an LLC and everyone involved signed confidential agreements, reported Curbed.

Holmes’ publicist and Cruise’s lawyer both denied the reports, but the rumours persisted, with sightings of the star claimed in the area while “doormen on the Central Village block [were] whispering”.
Now, following the couple’s split, the house has returned to the market.
The six-floor townhouse, which spans 8,000 square feet, was listed in 2008 for $22.75 million. Cruise and Holmes reportedly paid just over $15 million for the place. If true, they bagged a bargain: the house a total of five terraces, seven fireplaces, six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms.
A hydraulic lift “services all but the penthouse level”, adds RealEstalker, while NY architect Steven Harris gave the whole property a makeover.
“The master bedroom connects through to the upper landing of the townhouse's rear stairs where French doors open to a terrace that's probably larger than a typical Greenwich Village studio apartment and the master bathroom has a back door into a street-facing library/private sitting room—also accessible from the stair hall—with built-in bookcases on either side of a fireplace,” describes the site.
Starting to feel jealous? Wait until you hear about the glassed-in solarium on the penthouse level, which opens to decks equipped with outdoor shower and a “Japanese soaking tub”.
“Your Mama is not now and never was convinced that Mister and ex-Missus Cruise were the real buyers,” continues RealEstalker.
Whoever the sellers are, there is no confusion about the price tag: the stunning townhouse is asking for $28 million.
