Chinese super-rich number more than doubles in two years

The number of Chinese billionaires has more than doubled in two years according to a new report.

According to the “Hurun Rich List”, published by magazine Hurun Report, China now has 271 US dollar billionaires, compared to 189 in 2010 and only 130 in 2009.

China is now only second in the US, which holds around 400 billionaires, in this category.

The huge boost in China’s super-rich came as a surprise according to Rupert Hoogewerf, founder of the Hurun Report.
