Overseas property news - Burma returns to popularity

Burma returns to popularity

Long-haul tour operators say Burma is coming strongly back in favour with British travellers heading for the Far East following support given to "responsible tourism" by some of the country's political leaders.

Stella Blackwell, at adventure tour operator Explore, says: "Rich in colonial history, Burma has almost been left in a time-warp. Largely untouched by tourism, it currently offers only 9,000 hotel beds. It is for these reasons that it appeals so much to our customers."
