Angry hong kong agents protest outside midland hq
About 100 international property agents protested outside the offices of Midland Realty in the central business district of Hong Kong this week.
The angry crowd gathered in front of World-Wide House where Midland Realty is headquartered, demanding to talk to company chairman Freddie Wong Kin-yip up on the 25th floor.
The agents argue that Midland has been deducting extra commission payments on deals, which is disputed by Midland Realty. Midland has released a statement denying that the protest was about commission payments and the company is adamant that its executives have held meetings with the aggrieved realtors.
Some reports have implied that the dispute is not about Midland Realty failing to pay sub-agents their full commissions, but that it was more about the realtors feeling unhappy with changes in the company’s senior management.
