Donald trump eyes washington d.c. For luxury hotel
Donald Trump may no longer be chasing the White House, but the Washington Post says he's now chasing another historic Washington D.C. building for a luxury hotel plan.
According to the Post's story published this evening, the Trump Hotel Collection subsidiary recently submitted a proposal to the federal General Services Administration to convert the historic Old Post Office Pavilion into a luxury hotel with about 300 guest rooms, conference rooms and a spa. The building is next to Union Station.
Trump's hotels typically include high-end condominiums, but the story doesn't mention whether this proposal would include residences. Ivanka Trump confirmed the firm submitted a plan, but she declined to cite any details, the Post says. If ever built, a Trump-style hotel would likely compete against the city's best hotels for Washington's VIP visitors.
Today, most VIPs check into the Four Seasons, two Ritz-Carltons and the St. Regis, which is one of the closest hotels to the White House.
