World's tallest tower

The launch date for the world's tallest tower was finally made public yesterday, following months of secrecy...

The Burj Dubai, will officially open on 2nd December. The mixed-use Dubai property developent, developed by Emaar, was originally supposed to open in September. The scheme, which measures 818m high, will include an Armani hotel.

The final pannel on the building was fitted last week by envelope specialist Arabian Aluminium/Far East Aluminium. There are 24,348 panels in total.

The 6m-long glass, aluminium and steel panel will be installed within the next few weeks.

The tower forms part of the £12bn Downtown Burj Dubai scheme.
