Rightmove launches swedish site
Rightmove Overseas has launched a Swedish site this month in a move that signals the growing number of Scandinavian buyers active in the global property market.
Indeed, Swedish buyers are playing an increasingly active role in Spain's property market as investors from North Europe and Russia overtake the number of Brits hunting for Spanish homes.
www.rightmoveoverseas.se includes 75,000 international properties, all of which have had their listings translated into Swedish. However, the full descriptions of the property listings have not been included in the new language, reports Global Edge, while Rightmove Overseas are expected to charge a premium should the trial site prove successful.
Shameem Golamy, Head of Rightmove Overseas, told Global Edge:
"We visited the shows out in Sweden and took our time researching the market. Most of the leading portals do not accept foreign advertisers so their international listings are not comprehensive. For a Swedish buyer there is real lack of choice online when searching for international property.
"It will take time to build traffic and iron out any bugs in the system. We are not promoting it heavily to our clients at the moment as we need to wait and see how well we generate traffic and leads volumes. At the moment, it's hopefully just a nice bonus for our clients."
