Developer builds first homes for sale in stella maris

Construction is now underway on what are believed to be the first homes offered for sale in Stella Maris.

Located on some of the highest ground in The Bahamas, the Ocean Heights development consists of 16 new homes for sale, with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. While in the past, properties have been retained by the person commissioning the build, though, these homes will be offered for sale to buyers around the world.

They have already drawn interest, as demand for high-end residential and holiday homes in The Bahamas rebounds: during 2015, Stella Maris Village received over 200 enquiries for land and property from countries as diverse as the USA, the UK and the UAE.

"Our strategy is to refrain from full marketing efforts until we are able to show prospective purchasers our progress on site, whether that be physically or online. Even so, we are pleased to say, two homes have already been reserved,"  comments Mr. Richard Keyworth, Director of International Sales and Marketing.

"Now that we have broken ground, full marketing will begin next month. Integral to the sales of off-plan and turnkey homes will be the existing luxurious show/model home, which has already begun to play its part in showing potential owners what can be built at Stella Maris Village."

The new homes will be competitively priced from $545,000 and finished to a high specification to include solar power, rainwater filtration systems and first class insulation, making them virtually self-sufficient. They  will also benefit from fiber-optic communications and television.

The 16 new homes will be built on adjacent lots and form a community centered on a landscaped garden with pool. They will feature the highly acclaimed construction system by Emmedue, to be built by Long Island’s Cartwright’s Construction, working together with Nassau based Carib Construction and Project Management Limited.

The construction activity is expected to provide a major boost for the local economy, as developers Stella Maris Village Limited aim to bring investment to Long Island.

"We are pushing ahead with this new development at full speed," says Mr. Kevin Cartwright, of Cartwright’s Construction. "This is really good news for employment and businesses throughout the Bahamas, but especially for Long Island."
