Virgin galactic spaceport lands in new mexico

Virgin Galactic has landed in New Mexico - in a big way.

The company's giant launch pad, from which Virgin's first commercial spacecraft will rocket into orbit, was unveiled this month. If the launch, which Virgin promises will take place next year, is a success, it could become the country's hub for all future space flights, giving the local area a lift that's out of this world.

Spaceport America was designed by Norman Foster to be as environmentally friendly as possible to accompany its cutting-edge tech stored inside. The minimalist structure, which will act as both terminal and hangar, has already won admirers from across the galaxy.

But at a hefty price tag of $209 million, locals will be hoping that the stratospheric development gives an equally strong thrust to Mexico's property market.
