World's best beach destinations named
Not one Australian beach has made the cut into TripAdvisor's list of the world's top-25 beach destinations.
Providenciales, an island in the Caribbean's Turks and Caicos Islands, took out the top spot for the second year in a row.
Palm Eagle Beach in Aruba, another Caribbean island, was named the second best beach destination in the world, while Tulum in Mexico took out third spot.
Advertisement: Story continues below In a separate category for the best beaches in Australia, Queensland's Burleigh Heads, known for its surf break, was listed as number one, followed by NSW's Byron Bay, Queensland's Coolangatta and Broome in WA.
